I've always sorta been a cheapskate when it came to building my PCs... they all worked but were relatively slow and even blue-screened on me (one in particular, that bastard motherboard). And now that I'm back in school and doing more computer work at home, I figured I should go ahead and build myself something ridiculous (that will hopefully be somewhat dated-proof).

...Sometimes I find myself just clicking around navigating through folders and opening programs just to witness how fast everything is. I know, I'm a dork. So yeah, my new PC PWNS! 1249678380-useremo.gif

The parts: (except I switched the CPU-Cooler to the CoolerMaster v8, which lowered temps a lot better than the first one I bought) PARTS

you'll see that I rationalized the ginormous price tag by factoring in a few sales I made of old stuff and my x-mas moneyz. smile.gif (so don't be too mad I spent that much)

Damn:

Yeah, the one thing I didn't buy new for this current setup was the monitors, so I'm using 2 LCDs that I've had for a while. The Dell 24" that I got from iDeal and the smaller Sony 17" I got from Trainn (or was it freepay or giftfiesta....). But yeah, it's a monitor, pretty good quality too, for it's price/age.

What a beat Emoney! You went crazy on PSU and Ram as well. 8 Gigs of ram is pretty intense. What is the speed of the ram?

Also, how much do you enjoy your SSD? I haven't played with one yet but just by reading about them they are supposed to FLY!

Tell me more about it!

And try this out - http://www.passmark.com/download/pt_download.htm

Lets see how it rates!

I'm on my laptop so I can't do it now, but I'll check it later, goose. smile.gif

RAM is running overclocked to 2000, specs: DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2000 (PC3 16000)

Dude, the SSD is probably my favorite part. I got one of the better/faster models to see what all the fuss was about, and damn is the boot disk fast. I actually took a video of opening Photoshop CS4 and sent it to Mel and Kat (to show off how fast programs open from C:\). nerd.gif Huge difference between opening a song from either the 2TB or the .75TB HDD vs opening anything from the 60GB SSD.

Okay, that first picture, scared the Be-gee-bees out of me......I thought it was something from the SciFi Channel..........scary!

Nice work, you totally rock! Where do you find the time? Do you sleep?
I'm beginning to wonder.

Smooth operator!
