Lately a lot of people who have been new to freebies have had problems getting credit. This post is a reference tool that I reccommend sending to anybody you are trading with to ensure they get proper credit. Here we go!
1: Before logging into a site, ALWAYS clear your cookies. This is the MAIN problem regarding not getting credit. If you have not cleared your cookies and you have clicked the offer elsewhere you will get credit there instead of on the site you want it.
2: ALWAYS use Internet Explorer or Firefox. Other browsers have known issues with crediting.
3: ALWAYS make sure your cookies are on the lowest setting to accept them all.
4: DISABLE ANY antivirus, spyware, firewalls, or ad checking software. What a lot of people don't realize is any of these programs can either interfere with the cookies that make an offer track or they can block offer tracking in other ways.
And last but not least, if you do not get credit, you need to understand that it is NOT the fault of the site you did it on. This goes for anywhere you do an offer. When you do an offer, if you don't get credit, it is because something on your end did not go correctly. That is why it is VITAL to make sure the above things are done, otherwise you are seriously risking your chances of not getting credit. Hope this clears things up for some people who have been having problems!

To: Whomever this reaches= IO am a Total Noob- a grandpa who is lost in the bushes! Is there somewhere a guide to getting started that breaks things down into step by step directions? I mean, something that doesn;'t assume you know about half of what you're told, but rather doesn't know ANYTHING about this business. Everything I've read so far gives at least a few instructions that are greek to a newbie. Does such a help guide exist? If not, then I am sure I speak for many, many new people who wish there was! I'll wait now for an answer to this query before I whine any more. Thanks
P.S. Just as a for instance: This request that I have typed. When I look at the rest of this form, I'm lost! I don't see an "Enter". I have no idea what to do with this now that I've typed it!! This form is way too complicated for a noob! Everywhere I look all I see is complicated stuff with no explanation and I can see right now that I am about to bow out without ever having done anything at all. I thought I had found a great site but I am so lost that if I dont get some help fast, the frustration level is going to choke me and I don't see why it has to be this way!!!!!!!!!!

Not sure if there is any such step by step guide, but if you need anything at all, just post it in the 'Freebies 101' section of these forums and someone will be more than happy to help you. (it's kind of a long scroll to get to the submit button on a post, so you'll have to scroll down a bit

As long as you make sure that you stay only to safe sites and offers, disabling that stuff probably will not affact your computer at all... It has a tendency to block things without your knowledge at all, and to make 100% sure you will get credit, it is best to turn them off temporarily

I do not believe it is always 100% the fault of the referral.
There were sites that I never got the email confirmation, was charged and never got the product, received the product and was never charged, and etc...
So it is not always the fault of the referral. Some times the offer sites nevver forward the credit and I believe that sometimes the freebie sites never give the credit.
Thanks,

You can believe that part, but it's not true. I can't vouch for the rest of it as I don't deal on the affiliate side of things, but if you don't get credit for an offer, it's because the freebie site hasn't gotten paid for it (unless you're dealing with a very shady site).

Hi, Peter My name is Ron and I am starting out with this endeavor of completing offers for others so that I could generate funds to be able to pay others for green as I would like to have a new laptop and some other products dvd etc.
Peter can you send me some links to complete offers for you and could you help me to get started off right with this activity?
Also, why do offers say that they are free like a free trial offer and when I start to complete the offer the cost is a whole lot more than a small shipping and handlilng fee?
Peter I thank you very much for your time your patience and your understanding concerning this matter!!!
Sincerely
Ron

AOL uses a proxy, so therefore your IP would match many other IP Addies and therefore you run the risk of being placed on hold. Most sites do not allow AOL users.

Well....if that is the case being that this is the main problem regarding credit all sites should manually approve credit requests.I went to a site to manually request credit and it said that specific offer is not accepting credit requests even if it is a no cc site you should still be able to do this on all offers.Being that the consumer is paying to use their product for any given amount of time then why should all the risk be on the part of the consumer purchasing a product for trial use .I don't see the fairness in that. That sort of sounds like a loophole in the market for advertisers to get away with not honoring credits for the purchase of a product and then if it doesn't go through your out the shipping and handling .Also.these websites are getting kickbacks for all offers that are completed by us.Thats how they can pay you the money that they do if you ever get credits approved for that matter so you can imagine how much of a ridiculous amt of money these people are making themselves .Even if you do get credits approved..what about the ones that didnt'..we should just forget about them and say OH WELL. ..even though we completed the offer. These websites need to make sure the advertisers honor the credits that are supposed to be given no matter how long it takes..THATS GOOD BUSINESS

i've had a few problems receiving credits on my first few offers, and after reading this, i'm assuming it was because i hadn't cleared my cookies or temporarily disabled my antivirus programs. The question I have is what do i do now? I realize i need to do those things for the future, but how do fix the problem i already had? would you suggest that i just wait the 7 days and send a missing credit report?
Dabbs
Jan 27 2008, 03:53 PM
If the network that you completed the offers on accepts missing credits then that would be my advice.
Please make sure when you clear your cookies you are NEVER logged into the freebie site or have already clicked the offer to complete. Here is what I recommend:
Clear cookies, history, temp files. Turn off all pop-up blockers.
Close your Browsers, All of them.
Re-Open you browser. Go to the Freebie site and login.
Click the offer and complete. Wait 3 minutes before closing the confirmation page.
After that if you need to complete more offers, close all browsers.
Open a new browser, clear cookies, history, temp files.
Close the browser.
Re-Open and go to the freebie site, log in and complete the next offer.
I know this sounds like a lot of steps but this is what I do and I have an excellent record at crediting. It's really easy to get side tracked into doing something else or forgetting to log out of the freebie site before clearing your cookies. So its best to concentrate on this one thing - completing the offer - and nothing else.
Hope this helps you for future crediting.

No, ours credits within one day. It won't show pending, you will just see your credit listed. Hi Peter,
How do I disable any antivirus, spyware, firewalls, or ad checking software?
I have an HP Pavilion dv2000 and my browser is IE7. I've been to the Help section and I read the instruction which said that I should click on the button which says Norton Protection that is located near the clock on the Start tray. However, this didn't work. So I'm very confused and lost in this regard. I need someone to help me.
Thank you,

Hello, I'm not Peter but I will try to help.

To access your firewall you click
Start > Control Panel > Windows Firewall. Click to turn it off if it is on. I only recommend doing this while completing offers, I wouldn't leave it off all the time for general internet surfing.
To turn your Norton off, you should be able to right click the Norton Icon in your system tray in the lower right. Once you right click it, click Off or Disable or something to that fact. You can also do that if you have any adaware programs or ad blockers. A right click and disable or "off" should take care of your problem.
Good luck and let us know if we can help you any further.

If you are missing credits on Free4Me, you need to submit an MCR as follows:
Q: Do you accept Missing Credit Requests?
A: Although there is no guarantee we can have them approved, we will accept them. You must wait a minimum of 7 days before submitting and you must submit the full confirmation email with full headers so we can investigate for you.
You NEVER call an offer company to talk about missing credits as they will have no idea what you are talking about.
The time to clear your cookies is normally just prior to logging into a freebie site to complete an offer.
Hope this helps!

COOKIES
The cookies send all the information your browser has collected from you completing the offer, they are needed by the site you complete the offer from, that way as the sponsor can report to the freebie site that the offer credited
if you were to fill out a form incorrectly or go back to a page you were previously browsing, the cookies could be sent in with errors for that reason you should clear your cookies before, but once the cookies are considered sent, they could try and resend and delay the offer from crediting instantly
you should wait on the confirmation page for for about 10-20 minutes so that they do get sent (this is after you complete the offer) and then clear your cookies, which is what people mean by making sure to clear your cookies, since the first part of what I said was is if you make a mistake
PHONE SUPPORT
most freebie sites dont offer this since it is a waste of time, emails and support tickets speed up how many requests they can process
MISSING CREDIT REQUEST
if you have the confirmation email (of the offer), you need to find the complete headers and paste them and the message body into a support ticket or where it says missing credit request under "account>support/missing credit" and include any more information about the offer that didnt credit
