Fraud / Disqualifications / Holds
A user may be disqualified from completing a free site and become ineligible to receive the freebie as a result of committing fraud or being put on hold.
Fraud refers to "an intentional perversion of truth" or a "false misrepresentation of a matter of fact" which induces another person to "part with some valuable thing belonging to him or to surrender a legal right". This may appear as providing false personal information when registering to a freebie site or when completing an offer, completing offers more than one time (users are usually allowed to complete an offer only once, per the free site’s TOS and/or the advertiser’s TOS), or having multiple accounts with a free site.
Disqualifications
Disqualification (also “DQ”) occurs when a user has been discovered to have broken TOS and is permanently ineligible to receive the freebie from that site. Disqualifications may happen at any point in the process of pursuing the freebie, and are usually indisputable with the free site.
Holds
Holds occur when a free site has evidence that a user may have broken TOS and they want to investigate the account further. Holds may also happen at any point in the process, and can be temporary or permanent.
Examples of Fraud
Common reasons for being DQ’ed or being put on hold include:
1. Providing false personal information to the free site or the advertising offer
2. Having multiple accounts with the free site
3. Completing an offer more than one time
4. Pretending to be someone else
5. Attempting to complete a free site or an offer from a country not supported by the free site
or the advertiser (e.g., living in Germany but doing a U.S.-only site/offer)
6. Using fake or stolen information to complete an offer or sign up to a free site
7. Completing an offer and immediately canceling it (i.e.,Canceling a free trial the next day)
