Using Google Documents to keep track of trades

If you have a Gmail account, then you already have access to Google Documents. Google Documents can be a great tool to keep track of your trades while online. Easy access and integration with the browser makes it simple to move between your Gmail and A4F tabs so you can copy and paste just about any info that you'd need.

I generally keep one document with 3 or 4 lines for each trade, using the point-and-click Font Tools to highlight important info. I typically color-code each line with pink or green to indicate whether action is necessary. Here is an example from a trade I did early this year:

Once I have my trade added to the list, I add any special info pertaining to offers and trades as an event on my Google Calendar as well. With a tabbed browser it's really easy to switch between A4F, Gmail, Docs and Calendar.

After a trade is completed, I can cut and paste the info to an older document with completed trades, and keep one main document active where current trades are listed.

I've found that using Google documents is better for me since everything is always online, and I'm not tied to an Excel sheet on my home computer. The text tools are really easy to use, so using color codes is a simple and fast way visually tag your trades and offers so you can keep track of them. Google Docs are easily searchable, and Google auto-saves your document for you as you add and edit it.

Give it a try!
